DESCRIPTION :- Naukri.com was established in 1997 by an Indian businessman Sanjeev Bikhchandani. This job portal site basically operates in India and the Middle East. During the year 2013-14, 51,000 corporate consumers spent over Naukri.com for benefits like access to the database, postings of jobs, promotion/listing on the site with others.

Everything started when Sanjeev Bikhchandani established two companies with his partner – Info Edge and Landmark. Info Edge contributed salary reports to different sections of college graduates. Those reports were sold to corporations, in between 5000 to 10,000 INR. In 1991, their plan for videotext services was rejected by the Department of Telecom due to some reason, which created the partners to part their ways dividing the two companies and leaving Sanjeev with Info Edge.

With the help of his brother, he hired a server at a monthly rate of $25. In this way, Info Edge India, a holding corporation of Naukri.com started. It came to be Info Edge Private Limited on May 1, 1995. The recession in 1996, made the company suffer loss.

On April 2, 1997, Naukri.com was launched. 1000 jobs were collected from 29 magazines on the first edition of the website. Studies of businesses magazines and journals and verbal communication were followed. Many people started registering when they came to know that the job search on Naukri was free. Naukri.com does not ask candidates to pay any amount in exchange for a job. Searching and applying for jobs is free for all candidates. The website develops revenue in two ways – Subscription fees and advertising. 90% of revenue is obtained from officials and 10% of the income references are from job candidates services.

The company launched mobile apps in 2012 for mobile devices and received 23% of commerce from users in 2013. The website encountered difficulties with opponents registering sites with names identical to nakuri.com. The WIPO sanctioned Abs IT Solutions to transfer the realm naukarie.com to Info Edge. In 2014, Naukri.com received the Best Website of the Year Award.
